There are fewer and fewer supercars that have a good naturally aspirated engine. The points in favor of a supercharged engine are many, but the nostalgia for the sports cars of yesteryear continues to have a lot of pull among the most purists and the Aston Martin Vanquish S is a nod to this select group.

Presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2016, it wowed audiences with its undeniable beauty, and gave fans of race sports long teeth.

With this model, the British brand took a step further in the performance aspect, without neglecting the wonderful evolution that Aston Martin is undergoing on an aesthetic level in its latest models.

Captivating aesthetics

You may like it more or less, but the Vanquish S is another work of art with an undeniable British flair. The changes affect some pieces, but the overall silhouette does not change.

The front features a much more aggressive bumper and a grille divided into two. The headlights are slightly sharper and it now boasts sharper hood lines.  The side view maintains a 100% coupe air, with a very sharp rising waistline and pronounced wheel arches.

Aston Martin Vanquish S: rear

The rear part is reminiscent of the Vantage, but with a steeper and more dynamic drop, which gives a more sensation of movement to the whole. The bumper is also newly designed and has a huge diffuser at the bottom, surrounded by four huge exhaust outlets.

With the Vanquish S, Aston Martin has once again surpassed itself and created an extraordinarily beautiful product. Like most Aston Martin, it will enjoy a very slow aging, thanks to timeless lines.

The interior of the Vanquish S is fully configurable to suit the client. Here the changes are less noticeable compared to the normal Vanquish, except for some anagrams on several pieces and new upholstery designs. The basis of the interior is the same.

The convertible version of the Vanquish S, called Volante, has an elegant soft top, with various colors available, which further highlights the car’s shapes. An undoubtedly tempting option, since hearing its engine without a hood is something magical.

Infinite motor

As we already announced at the beginning of the article, the absence of turbo is a configuration highly demanded by those who like sporty driving ‘old fashioned’, with a linear delivery and without delay.

As in its last generation brothers, the engine is housed in the forward position, but placed as far back as possible to improve the distribution of weights between the two axles. It is also positioned as low as possible to lower the car’s center of gravity and improve cornering.

With such a dose of power under the right foot, this Aston Martin offers the performance and sensations of a true supercar. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds and manages to reach 323 km / h of maximum speed.

The sound it emits from its four tailpipes is addictive, and encourages you to keep increasing the revs, and when you think it’s close to the cut-off point, you look at the rev counter and see that you can enjoy 2,000 more rpm. Only a V12 is capable of causing you that feeling.

Predictable price

Its craftsmanship is indisputable, its design is spectacular and its performance is heart-stopping. To all this must be added a possibility of customizing the interior that will please the most demanding customer. Obviously, all this does not come cheap, but for € 262,950, the Vanquish S becomes a piece that will be enjoyed by very few privileged people.

It is difficult for an Aston Martin to defraud the buyer.  In fact, the second-hand market for Aston Martin is very limited. Few cars maintain the figure better than those made by these British. In the automotive world, the English supercar firm is a safe bet.
