Of all the repertoire that Lamborghini offers today, the Lamborghini  Huracán  is positioned as the most successful model. In just four years, the brand has placed more than 11,000 units on the street, on the verge of surpassing its predecessor – Gallardo – and its 14,022 units sold in a decade.

Exterior design

Aesthetically, the design of the Lamborghini Huracán has opened two fronts of opinion. On the one hand there are those who reproach the lack of passion in their lines, much more conventional. On the other side are those who adore that purely Italian ‘look’, wedge-shaped and reminiscent of the mythical Countach.

The designers were inspired by the carbon atom and its characteristic hexagon, an element that is represented on numerous occasions both externally and internally, and that is that in this Italian sports car, form takes precedence over function.

As has been common in the brand’s cars for decades, the wedge-type bodywork starts from a low, tapered front end that is extended by a flat windshield and a long, high rear. Unlike its predecessor, its lines are cleaner, reducing the number of engine cooling inlets.

In addition to the hexagons, the Y design becomes important as we can see in the rear light clusters and in the front daytime running lights. Finally, if you are not convinced by the coupe line, there is also a Spyder version with a canvas roof, which modifies the entire hood.

Interior design

As expected, the cabin is strictly two-seater, but it takes advantage of all the available space in a masterful way. Even the largest will be able to accommodate in its striking interior, whose design is inspired by jet fighters.

Its imposing center console is made of carbon fiber, and stands out for the start button with cover. Since we are talking about carbon, all surfaces combine this material with leather of all colors. The absence of a central screen is striking , replaced by the Audi Virtual Cockpit that contains all the functions.

This digital instrument cluster changes its design according to the driving mode selected from the steering wheel. There are three driving modes: Strada, Sport and Corsa, arranged in ascending order of sportiness.

Lamborghini Huracán Specifications

As in the Audi R8, the Lamborghini Huracán has one of the latest V10 engines on the market. As if that were not enough, it is a naturally aspirated engine, capable of touching 9,000 revolutions per minute. It delivers a total power of 610 hp and a torque of 560 Nm, the same figures as in the Ingolstadt sports car.

All this power is transmitted to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel. It signs a top speed of over 300 km / h – 325 km / h – and a 0-100 km / h in 3.2 seconds.

The bodywork is made up of aluminum and plastic panels that sits on a mixed carbon fiber and aluminum chassis. Thanks to the combination of these materials, a strong as well as light set is achieved, barely 1,400 kg to be exact.

Prices

In our country the Lamborghini Huracán and Huracán Spyder are subject to a registration tax of 14.75% due to their motorization, which leaves us with a base price of 230,000 euros for the coupe version and 253,000 euros in the case of the Spyder. .
