It’s no secret that the automotive segment preferred by most drivers today is SUVs and SUVs. A trend that extends almost as homogeneously throughout the planet as the general characteristics of these models.

Practicality and strength are two of the pillars that support the offer of this vehicle from India. In addition to including everything you need for hard work, it also has enough to serve as a leisure and adventure family car.

Mahindra Rise: from Bombay to the world

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited is one of the most important companies in the Gandhi country. At the same time, it is one of the most reputable in Asia and the world.

This company was founded in 1945 as a steel manufacturer; Since then, they have ventured with outstanding success in fields as diverse as construction and housing development or aerospace technology.

The automobile and tractor division represents the spearhead of the entire conglomerate. With the arrival of the new millennium, they adopted an aggressive global expansion plan.

The brand’s strategy includes not only the opening of assemblers in countries such as China, Brazil, Italy or the United States. Also strategic alliances with consortiums such as Renault and the acquisition of the South Korean-flag automaker SsangYong Motor Company.

The external lines of this double cab pick-up synthesize the desire to combine a country look with a stylish image. This is how a grille with fine lines stands out at the front, a clear reference to the SUVs developed by the brand.

At the back, the cargo area is rustic without mitigating elements, completely devoid of any decorative element. It can be considered a work machine.

Despite exceeding five meters in length, it is not one of the largest models on the market. Its 5.11 m only exceeds, among most of its competitors, the 4.99 m of the SsangYong Sport; but they fall short in relation to the 5.25 m of the Volkswagen Amork or the 5.36 m exhibited by the Toyota Hilux or the Ford Ranger.

As a work tool, the  load capacity of this Mahindra Goa has nothing to envy of any of these models: up to 1,200 Kg.

Interior design

If at first glance the Mahindra Goa Double Cab already offers an austere spirit, its interior only reaffirms this perception. Which in no way implies discomfort for its occupants, even if they are five adult passengers.

When activating the 4 × 4 drive, the driver only has to turn a small handle located on the dashboard. Its suspension system includes five anchor points, with a torsion bar at the front and a leaf spring plus shock absorbers on the rear axles.

Price

Pragmatism, efficiency and economy. They are other concepts that go perfectly with the Mahindra Goa Double Cab . Its base price is € 17,900,  the cheapest option available on the market among vehicles of its type. The Fiat Fullback (€ 20,052) and the SsangYong Sport (€ 22,500) are the models that are closest to it.

A risky option?

Despite the good reviews they enjoy in their domestic markets, cars made in India or China are viewed with suspicion in the West . These companies have had to appeal to the simple and the economic, to gain a minimum place among the preferences of European drivers.

Mahindra Rises has taken Spain as one of its axes to succeed in the old continent. Of the 177 new units that the company registered in 2017, it aims to increase to 4,000 in 2021.

An important part of the plan consists of competing among the Pick-Up, but beyond the rural areas, in addition to guaranteeing after-sales services in the main cities.
