Renault megane

This modest Renault model was the car with which Fernando Alonso got his driving license. As funny as it is, the future Formula 1 double champion was reprimanded for going too slow.

Among his personal collection is this well-known model of the French manufacturer, perhaps because of the love that the pilot has for his beginnings at the wheel.

Mercedes SLR McLaren Edition 722

From the modest Renault Megane we jump to this select Mercedes sports car. This German-made model is priced at around £ 300,000 or US $594,000.

Despite its very high price, a world-famous driver like Fernando Alonso has no pocket problems to pay for it. The SRL is powered by a 5,440 cc front V8 mid-engined engine. With this powerful propeller it can reach the maximum 626 Cv.

Its state-of-the-art elements also include its ventilated carbon-ceramic disc brakes, which can maintain their effectiveness even at temperatures of 1,000 ºC.

Ferrari 458 Italia

This elegant Italian supercar is another of the models that fill the Asturian driver’s garage. It was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009 and has become one of the most recognized Ferrari models.

Its V8 engine has a capacity of 4,500 cc, with which it reaches a maximum power of 570 CCV at 9,000 rpm. It has a seven-speed double clutch, similar to that of the Ferrari California. This attractive model, one of the best designs of the Italian manufacturer, is gradually being replaced by a new supercar, the Ferrari 488 GTB.

Going back to more common models on the market, the Asturian rider also has a copy of the Honda Civic Type R. This model, even so, is the most radical variant of the Honda Civic, and has a stiffer and lighter body. as well as improvements to the chassis and brakes.

Perhaps it is because of this sporty model spirit that the Type R is among Fernando Alonso’s models. The philosophy of this Honda is to offer a competition vehicle that involves the driver in a purer driving experience.

Honda NSX

Finally, Fernando Alonso has a more classic model in his personal collection. This sports car was widely distributed, and was offered by Honda between 1990 and 2005. Among its versions is a racing variant that was manufactured until 2009.

The design of the NSX was based on ideas drawn from the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jet. From this military fighter a bubble-like cockpit was designed and annoying steel struts were dispensed with.
