The Citroën C1 is a small car designed for the city, whose  development was part of a joint project with Peugeot and Toyota, hence it was produced jointly with the Peugeot 108 and the Toyota Aygo.

Currently, the Citroën C1 is marketed with a three- and five-door body, plus a convertible version called the C1 Airscape. One of the great advantages of this car is that, thanks to its media, it becomes very useful in the city, in traffic and when parking.

This new generation was launched in early 2014 and brought improvements in all its versions, with much more equipment and design adjustments. The C1 stands up to rivals like the Ford Ka, the Fiat Panda and the Volkswagen Up.

Exterior

The new version of the Citroën C1 measures 3.46 meters long, 1.62 meters wide and 1.45 meters high. Its design shows more sober and rounded lines, the classic grille with the insignia that, at first glance, identifies it as a Citroën.

The headlamps feature a rather striking two-piece design and the LED daytime running lights are embedded in the front bumper. At the rear, the hatchback is similar in design to the Peugeot 108, in black and ascending to the rear window, which gives it an elegant touch.

The rear lighting is different, the taillights have a square design and underneath this is the reversing light. This new model of the Citroën C1 allows much more customization in the combination of tones for the bodywork and the folding roof of the Airscape variant, with six colors available.

Inside

The interior is quite comfortable for four adults and the materials used have been greatly improved. The squares are more comfortable and now there are many more holes to carry objects.

The new Citroën C1 has an infotainment system called Touch Drive, with a seven-inch touch screen. This system allows you to connect your mobile and project what it shows on the screen in an intuitive and easy-to-use way.

The boot has a capacity of 196 liters  and, with the rear seats folded down, it increases to 780 liters, which facilitates large loads when necessary.

Engines

The Citroën C1 mounts two gasoline engines. The most powerful option is an 82 hp 1.2 PureTech engine and, as a more modest alternative, a 68 hp 1.0 VTI.

For those who want an automatic car for the city , the 68-horsepower 1.0 VTI may be a good option , since it comes associated with an automatic transmission,  while the 82-horsepower model is reserved for the manual gearbox.

They are enough engines to move the car comfortably around the city and shows a consumption of 4.3 l / 100 km and a CO2 emission rate of 99 g / km, in the case of the 82 horsepower model.

Compact is best for the city

The C1 price section is quite accessible, since it starts at around 12,000 euros and does not exceed 15,000 euros. It is an excellent car for the city and a good first option for a young audience or those who only need to move within their area.

It is a vehicle with a good level of equipment, but with quite modest engines. However, the C1 is there to meet the needs.
