Lamborghini Huracan RWD, Back Is Always More Fun

After the launch of the two-wheel-drive Gallardo years ago, it was only a matter of time before a similar variant reached the range of the new access sports car from the Italian manufacturer; it is possibly the best option in the range behind the Huracán Performante

For the most purist drivers there is something that drives them crazy: the rear wheel drive. For years, if any of these were interested in a Lamborghini they had no other option but to settle for all-wheel drive, however, with the Lamborghini Huracán RWD they will be able to have a lot of fun.

Differentiating design

Also available in Spyder format, the Lamborghini Huracán RWD is presented with a unique and differentiating design with which it marks the distances with the conventional version with all-wheel drive. These differences are visible both at the front and at the rear, although there are not visible changes.

The front bumper has new shapes, which have changed the size of the front air intakes. On the other hand, this new design is less flattering, since it causes the nose to be less sharp than before.

As for the rear, the changes also respond to the shape of the ventilation intakes located under the rear light clusters, whose grilles increase in size. Also new are the tailpipes and the design of the 19-inch Kari wheels.

However, all the exterior and technical changes are diluted once we are seated in its comfortable and sporty cabin. In this space, no changes have been made, offering a multitude of materials and decoration colors. Interior customization is only stopped by your wallet.

specs

Obviously, the most significant change to this Lamborghini Huracán RWD is its rear-wheel drive versus the all-wheel drive of its siblings. In addition to offering more fun behind the wheel and more rabid behavior, the RWD comes with a reduction in weight under the arm.

As those who do not want the thing, the two-wheel-drive version homologates a lower weight as a result of eliminating 50% of the standard Huracán’s powertrain. It has not been the only element that loses, and that is that this model is less powerful.

It maintains the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine behind the seats, but since transferring the 610 hp that it offers only to the rear wheels could be excessive, the propellant has slightly clogged. After this ‘reverse repro’, the engine lends a not inconsiderable 580 hp and 540 Nm.

In addition, current technology makes it possible to have several cars in one, and in the case of Lamborghini this selection process is done through ANIMA. This system gives us the opportunity to choose between three driving modes – Sport, Corsa and Strada – each more aggressive.

Prices

As this RWD version of the Lamborghini Huracán is supposed to be inferior despite being even the most suitable, the asking price is also lower. In our country the official distributors put the label of 203,600 euros for the RWD Coupé and 225,000 euros in the case of the RWD Spyder

Given the difference in price with respect to the conventional version and the price that is asked for the optional equipment, we can only recommend the Lamborghini Huracán RWD over its more powerful brother, and use the economic difference in customizing it.
