It is curious how the AMG preparations cover a wide range of models, from a small A-Class, through saloons and convertibles to the mammoth GLS, the largest SUV in the German manufacturer’s range.

Being able to qualify as nonsense, it is a highly recommended product for those looking for a vehicle of this size, since the improvements compared to the conventional version justify the extra cost;  the GLS to buy is this.

Exterior design

The main changes to the exterior have been included to accommodate all the technical improvements introduced. The front now features an exclusive AMG grille for better cooling, somewhat similar to the bumper. the wheel arches have been widened

As for the rear, a small spoiler has been incorporated into the tailgate, as well as a generous diffuser with four trapezoidal tailpipes. In addition, all the chrome has been replaced by a gloss black finish for a more sporty look.

Cabin

Facing the cabin, the main changes focus on more sporty cut seats  with wraparound shapes for better support, as well as a new steering wheel, flattened at the bottom.

Prices start at 137,350 euros for the only version available, a figure that increases considerably if the most interesting options are added. The most prominent, the Driver’s Package,  increases the top speed to 270 km / h at a change of 2,837 euros,  and includes the carbon fiber engine compartment for 2,317 euros.

As a best extra for the cabin we find the  Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG premium sound system, which for 5,826 euros is the most expensive option available. Understandably, due to the nature of the GLS, we have no option for carbo-ceramic brakes.
