Peugeot 5008 GT

The Peugeot 5008 GT is the high-end model of an old minivan turned into an off-road crossover. A second generation, which in addition to power and strength, also adds interior space.

Balanced design

If there is an outstanding aspect of the Peugeot 5008 GT it is the balance between its external image and what it has to offer in its internal part.

 Following in the footsteps of its little brother, the nondescript character of a conventional minivan was totally a thing of the past. His posture before the world mixes rudeness with exquisite sporty lines.

At the front, the sculpted and checkered grille grille, with chrome fins and the distinctive Gallic lion in the middle, functions as a motif. All this topped off with two Full LED headlights and a solid bumper with wide air intakes.

In the rear, the pilots wait in the form of triple claws on each side, just inside a black strip that circumscribes the middle area of ​​the tailgate.

The roof is adorned with Peugeot’s own design : Black Diamond, while the tires are fitted on 19 ”Boston wheels, two-tone effect and diamond.

A functional interior

Inside the cabin, the designers did not keep any details. The elaborate finish of each element stands out, in addition to the use of noble materials that go through natural wood, chromed steel or satin upholstery.

It is mounted on the EPM2 platform, the same with which the model 3008 rolls. With the addition that this bodywork has an additional 20 centimeters, which are used to add two seats, which allow seven people to travel comfortably.

In addition, when it comes to transporting luggage, it offers a not inconsiderable 780 liters of capacity with the third row of seats retracted, expandable to just over 2000 liters if the intermediate seats are collected.

The curtain that hides the roof glass from the inside can be partially or completely retracted. In this way, a wide view of the outside is offered, as well as a powerful entrance of natural light.

Motorization and mechanics

The new Peugeot 5008 GT walks with a powerful 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder BlueHDi engine. It is paired with an 8-speed piloted automatic transmission, called the EAT8. This machine has the capacity to reach speeds in the order of 210 km / h.

Despite being only marketed in a 4 × 2 version, it offers its users Advanced Grip Control technology. This system facilitates driving through uneven surfaces and with medium levels of difficulty.

This head-up display consists of a 12.3 ”screen, with vital and personalized information regarding the operation of the car.

In the center console, an 8 ”screen is used to display the infotainment systems. It has a built-in TomTom 3D navigator, (with real-time traffic information) and Mirror Screen mode. This option allows you to replicate the Smartphone screen, facilitating communication tasks.
