On March 30, the official opening of the New York Auto Show was held . But two days earlier, the automotive industry was gathering for the 2018 World Car Awards.

The objective of the World Car Awards is to reward and publicize the best cars in the world, taking into account the launches of each year.
The WCA 2018, following the tradition of recent years, has awarded the best automotive performance in six different categories : best car of the year, best city car, best sports car, best luxury car, best design and best ecological car.
To select the finalists and select the 2018 winners, the WCA has an international jury. It was made up of 82 expert journalists from 24 different countries.
Next, we present the best cars in the world, according to the categories of the WCA 2018 and the appreciation of its jury.
Best car of the year: the Volvo XC60
In the most important category of the WCAs, the Volvo XC60 has established itself as the best car of 2018. The Swedish brand’s sophisticated SUV has stood out, not only for its innovative and attractive design, but also for its safety and driver assistance technology.
It should be remembered that, recently, Volvo has launched its electric version (T8 Twin Engine), which offers an incredible range of 45 kilometers.
