What Should Be Taken Into Account In The Driving Test?

1. The obstacles

First of all, during the test drive we must take into account all possible obstacles in our lane. We must make sure that no one comes face to face and, when overtaking, do so on time and without forgetting to signal.

2. Lane changes

When changing lanes, it will be vitally important that you follow the proper safety maneuver. First, look in your rearview mirror to make sure no one is nearby in your destination lane. Then put on the turn signal to signal the maneuver. Finally, move smoothly and without swerving.

3. Parking maneuvers

To make a good parking, the most important thing is to start on the right foot. To do this, we must place ourselves at a distance of half a meter from the car that we want to take as a reference for parking. Next, we have to make sure that the end of the reference car is approximately in the middle of our rear window.

4. Starting on an uphill slope

One of the most difficult points for a student is starting while standing on an upward slope. In these cases, we must play with the brake and the clutch in order to get going without the car falling backwards.

To achieve this, we must raise the clutch to the point where the gear lever and steering wheel begin to vibrate. At that moment, we will maintain the position of the clutch and we will release the brake pedal little by little. Thus, the car will start to accelerate slowly to start off.

5. Beware of stops

Making a wrong stop is a very common failure in the driving test. When you come to one of these signs and have no visibility, stop and approach with your torso and head to try to see. After this, move slowly to the point where you have visibility. There, stop again and see if another car is coming down the road you want to join. When you are sure, start walking normally again.

6. Yield

When we come to a yield sign, we must make sure we have good visibility. Therefore, we must always approach with the first gear and very slowly, to be able to react in time if a car appears from a blind spot.

7. Be careful with conditioned areas

It is important to be careful with conditioned areas. If the examiner orders you to turn left or make a U-turn, the first thing you have to do is turn right to enter the area prepared for it.

8. Pay attention to the prohibited maneuvers

When we arrive at an intersection where the right-of-way is not signposted, we must look at where the turn signal or prohibited entry is. If the cars are coming from the right, it will be on that side where you will find the sign, and you must make sure you give way to them.

9. Learn the maneuvers at home before the test drive

Driving schools offer a large number of videos in which we can observe in detail all the maneuvers to be carried out during the driving test. It will be important to look closely and memorize these videos in order to be able to perform the maneuvers more safely during the exam and not forget any steps to follow.

10. Know the exam areas

Finally, we must know well the areas through which we will carry out the driving test. In the same way that we have studied the theory for the theory test, we have to know the details of the streets we will drive on.
